New Hail-A-Taxi pilot program continues
Taxicabs are now allowed to actively load and unload passengers in some curbside areas of Downtown and Hollywood. If the program is successful, it may be expanded to other areas of the City.
A new intiative in downtown LA, Hail-a-Taxi, begins December 8th, 2008.
Parking Enforcement on National Holidays Announced
With several national holidays just around the courner, LADOT wants to remind all our stakeholders and partners to please be aware of
which parking restrictions are enforced and which ones are not. For all the details, please see our November 20, 2008 memorandum.

Free Holiday Late Night DASH Route in Downtown
LADOT will begin operating a night time DASH bus route during the 2008 holiday period to serve riders on Friday and Saturday
nights from 6:30 p.m. to 3:00 a.m. from November 21 through and including New Year’s Eve. The special holiday Late Night DASH service also offers riders the ability to
connect to Metro’s Red Line which is also operating late night holiday hours until 3:00 a.m. on Friday and Saturday nights.

Los Angeles Venues Raise More Than $54,000 Dollars to Sponsor Late Night Weekend Service On Metro Red Line During Holiday Season
A group of prominent Los Angeles area businesses have anteed up $54,250 to extend late-night weekend subway service on the Metro Red Line from North Hollywood to
Union Station this holiday season, allowing thousands working at or enjoying shops, restaurants and entertainment venues to stay out a little later on Friday and Saturday nights or
use public transportation on their way to and from late night shifts.
Beginning Friday night (Saturday morning), November 21, and continuing each Friday and Saturday night until December 27, Metro Red Line service will be extended to run approximately every 20 minutes until 3 a.m.

New Parking Violations Bureau Location Opens
The Los Angeles Department of Transportation has relocated its Mid-Wilshire Parking Violations Bureau customer service center to another Mid-Wilshire location at 3333 Wilshire Blvd., Suite 3337. Parking citations can always be
paid on-line at the Parking Violations Bureau website.
Tiger Team V Pounces
Tiger Team V will eliminate traffic congestion along 25 LA Hot Spots by ticketing, towing and removing illegally parked
vehicles from the street during AM and PM rush hours. Deployment of Tiger Team V, a special fifth installment of the LADOT's anti-gridlock traffic enforcement team
began Sept 30, 2008. Peak hour citations will cost drivers $70 and Anti-Gridlock parking citations will cost $145. The towing fee will be $187, inclusive of a $33 storage
fee once the vehicle has been in the possession of the towing company for more than one hour. Each additional day of storage is also $33. Please READ all posted signs to
avoid receiving a citation, a tow or both.
Operation Bottleneck Relief Expanded
Operation Bottleneck Relief is a traffic improvement program that evaluates the most congested signalized intersections in the City of Los Angeles,
for the purpose of immediately providing traffic congestion relief. This FY, 60 additional locations will be evaluated for improvement potential. About 50% of intersections studied have
congestion relieved by adjusting signal timing.
Diagonal Crosswalks Unveiled
Improving traffic safety and amenities for pedestrians are important goals for LADOT. In fulfillment of these goals, diagonal crosswalks will be installed at 10 City of Los Angeles intersections.
Safety is improved because pedestrians and bicyclists have their own ‘exclusive’ phase in which to cross the street without conflict from turning vehicles.

New Parking Meter Rates Going Into Effect
Rates will be phased in from Sep to Dec throughout the City of Los Angeles.

Central City East DASH Pilot Program Started
New DASH service began September 4, 2008 and runs every 20 minutes from Little Tokyo through the Arts,
Flower and Toy Districts. Connect to DASH Downtown Routes A, D and E from the new Central City East neighborhood DASH.

Park & Pay Stations Replace Old
Meters
LADOT has begun replacing outdated, single-space meters with
new Park
& Pay Stations. The new stations will improve parking
convenience, predictability and reliability. In addition to
coins, the new stations allow drivers to pay their parking

Olympic West Pico East Summary
Following a Los Angeles Superior Court ruling on Monday, May 5, installation of the Olympic West Pico East Initiative will be delayed.
The Initiative will move forward following a more extensive environmental review currently underway, with expected
completeion in July 2009. Information on the Mayor's initiative to
relieve traffic congestion
on Olympic and Pico Boulevards is available
