The City of Los Angeles
restricts parking in certain areas and allows residents
to purchase permits exempting themselves and their guests
from the parking restrictions in:

First-time applicants for new Preferential
or Overnight Parking Permits must purchase the permit in-person
by visiting one of our four convenient walk-in Customer Service Centers.
Beginning November 2009, annual resident and vistor permits may be renewed online. Instructions for the online process will be included in renewal letters mailed to residents with exisiting permits. If those residents want to renew permits online, they may refer to the letter for the appropriate website and PIN information.
New applicants and exisiting account holders need to clear all unpaid parking citations before the Department will issue any permit.
