Community
The Los Angeles Department of Transportation
is dedicated to serving the varied communities within the
City of Los Angeles by delivering safe, reliable and accessible
transportation services. The Community Outreach Division
of LADOT’s Public Information Office serves as a conduit
between the Department and the communities it serves.
Outreach Activities
The Community Relations Division of the Public Information
Office attends an average of five community events per month.
At these events, LADOT representatives directly communicate
with City residents about LADOT services. Outreach events
are either planned by the Department or are attended by
invitation. Contact the Public
Information Office to request LADOT representation
at an event.
Education Programs
Community outreach employees also manage programs and events
that promote public education. Covering a variety of topics,
the Public Information Office hosts events such as pedestrian
workshops and manages safety education programs. “Watch
the Road,” an award-winning
safety campaign, is one of these education programs.
City Council Liaison
The Los Angeles Department of Transportation council liaison
works with Council
Offices to address
community issues.
Speakers’ Bureau
The Los Angeles Department of Transportation is recognized
as the leader in transportation in Los Angeles. Since many
of the Department’s employees are experts in their
fields, requests are often made for them to speak at events.
Please use the Request for
Speakers’
Bureau form to notify the Department about a
speaking opportunity.
