Welcome to the official City of Los Angeles Department of Transportation website!

Los Angeles is a vibrant city, experiencing substantial growth in jobs, population, economic activity, business travel, and tourism. The rise as the international gateway for the movement of people and goods demands a multiple component transportation system to meet both today’s and tomorrow’s challenges.

Following the leadership of our Mayor and City Council, we want to increase convenience, reliability, safety, and speed of Los Angeles’ transportation system and change how Los Angeles looks and how people move throughout the City.

Approximately, 2,200 employees live and play in the Greater Los Angeles area. Together with the many stakeholders: community organizations, businesses, elected officials, regional transportation partners and other municipal departments, LADOT will continue to provide innovation and teamwork to support the growth of our City.

These strong alliances will leverage our resources, solutions and public outreach. We will continue to strive to improve the quality of life for those who live, work or visit Los Angeles by enhancing mobility and accessibility while helping the City to become cleaner and greener.
