Parking
The City controls almost 49,000 parking spaces as well as spaces
along the 7,200 miles of road in the City. The Department of
Transportation (LADOT) operates 118 public parking
lots and garages; manages on-street parking through meters,
color curbs
, and various parking
permits . LADOT also enforces parking
regulations through the Parking
Enforcement Division.
The Department of Transportation also offers
parking services to those with specialized permits. The Department
makes provisions for residents who live in preferential parking
districts and those who require overnight
parking passes.

LADOT
traffic officers regularly patrol parking areas along
City streets and metered zones, enforcing parking
regulations with citations. The traffic officers
help ensure:

Motorists
who do not comply with parking regulations jeopardize
the safety and mobility of others. For this reason,

Parking violation fines must be paid. Payments
are accepted by mail
and telephone
in-person

through the Parking
Violations Bureau . If you believe a citation was issued
in error, you may contest
the citation by contacting the Parking Violation Bureau.
